Vi Grell was born in Casselton, North Dakota and spent her latter 48 years in the Salem area. After her retirement from Montgomery Wards she utilized her free time by traveling and visiting with family members. She frequently spent time baking, doing crafts, and attending her granddaughter's softball games.

Violet joined her family and friends in heaven on Tuesday, March 13th. She is survived by three sisters Carol, Beverly, Twyla; two sons Randy and David Walz; and only grandchild Allison Walz. On behalf of Violet's request there will not be a memorial service, her wish is that those who loved her would take a moment to reflect upon the times they spent together.
