Virginia Louise RogersMay 14, 1921 - June 20, 2009Virginia Louise Rogers 88 of Albany, passed away Saturday at her home.Virginia was born in Blair, Neb., to Calvin and Vinnie (Brewster) Cole.  She was raised in Nebraska and  graduated from Bishop Clarkson Nursing School in 1945.  On June 27, 1947 she married George Rogers in Las Vegas, Nev.  She spent most of her life in Calif., working as an R.N., she retired in 1976.After George passed away Virginia moved to Albany and has been here since 1991.  She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Albany.  Virginia was  involved in the SMART reading program and spent much of her time with her church and friends.Virginia is survived by daughter Linda Rogers of Albany; son Steve Rogers of Portland; and brother Robert Cole of Phoeniz, Ariz.  She was preceded in death by her husband George.A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Albany First Assembly of God Church.  Memorial contributions may be made Albany First Assembly Mission Fund.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  ( www.aasum-dufour.com )
