Viril Maurice CoulsonJuly 13, 1915 - Dec. 14, 2009Viril Maurice Coulson, 94, of Albany passed away Monday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.Maurice was born in Smith Center, Kan., to Keith and Icy Coulson.In 1920 he moved to Divide, Colo., then to Oregon in 1926, where he met Edna Kindred. They married July 3, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash. Maurice and Edna lived in the Willamette Valley until 1963, when they moved to Reedsport. After residing in Reedsport for 32 years, they moved to Corvallis and then to Albany. Maurice enjoyed photography and was an animal lover.Maurice served in the army during World War II and joined the Navy during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Icy Coulson; brother Bernard; and sister Frieda Wilson.He is surived by wife Edan Coulson; son Duane and wife Louise; daughter Francie Olson and husband Stan; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Private burial will take place at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.
