Walter M. Underwood, proud veteran of the U.S. Army and the Air Force, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Walter was born on February 13,1939 in Illinois. Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army at a very young age. As part of this service, he later joined the Airforce, trained with the Marines and was deployed overseas in the Eastern Pacific. He highly valued this military service.

An interment ceremony honoring the life of Walter M. Underwood was held at Aasum-DuFour Funeral Home for family members on May 21, 2025. The Honor Guard was present for this ceremony. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor in July 2025.
