Wanda Marie Cornett, 85, of Albany passed away Tuesday at Riverbend Hospital in Eugene.
Wanda was born in Garvin County, Okla., to Ben & Beaulah (Burch) Bentley. She grew up in Leedey, Okla., and graduated from Liberty Center High School.
On Nov. 3, 1948, she married James D. Cornett in Hammon, Okla. The couple made their home in Sayre and Stillwater, Okla., for a short time. They spent many years on Indian Reservations throughout the Western States. In 1971 they moved to Warm Springs. After retirement in 1981 they moved to Albany to be near their son.
Wanda is survived by her husband, James Cornett of Albany; son Phil Cornett of Salem; sisters Maxine Allen of Stockton, Calif., Marjorie Patton and husband Bill of Elk City, Okla., Betty Jean Cordum and husband Delbert of Elk City, Okla., Glenda Tomberlin and husband Billy Ray of Alva, Okla., and June Herndon and husband Wendell of Cordell, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jay Bentley; and an infant sister.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Sayre Church of Christ with a burial service at Shirley Cemetery northwest of Leedey, Okla.
