William Allen Lynn, 79, of Albany was called to be with the Lord while in the presence of his family on Thursday, Jan. 22.
He was born in Makoti, North Dakota, to William and Lillian Lynn. He worked as a farmer in his early years and in 1961 married Helen Faul of Minot, North Dakota, where his two daughters were born. In 1968, William left North Dakota in search of a better future for his family. He was hired at Wah Chang and moved his family to Albany where his son was born. He retired from Wah Chang in 2000.
William's love and joy was spending time with his family, which he was extremely proud of. He spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren and enjoyed making them laugh constantly. He was a well-known face at his grandchildren's many sporting and school events. He enjoyed gardening and took pride in his rose garden. He also enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to the yearly elk hunting trip with friends.
William is preceded in death by four of his siblings, Lita Ruh, Janette Olsen, Bernice Scheele and David Lynn.
William is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter Dorothy Hendrickson, husband Tony and their three children Marcus (wife Kacy and great grandson Jaxson), Tara and Delaney; daughter Diane Draper, husband Dwayne and their two children Derek (wife Jillian) and Jordan; son Alan Lynn, wife Karin and Alan's two children, Seth and Alaina.
A celebration-of-life service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1910 34th Ave. S.E., Albany.
