William G. Trudeau
William George Trudeau, 82, of Albany, Oregon passed away on January 12th, 2025. Bill passed peacefully after a prolonged battle with cancer at his home, surrounded by his family.
Bill loved people and will be missed by all those he touched throughout his life. He was continuously looking for ways to serve the people of this world through teaching, counseling, and participating in organizations including Lions club, Rotary, Special Olympics, and anywhere else he saw need and believed he could make a difference.
Bill's funeral/celebration of life service, with a reception following, will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan in Corvallis, OR on Monday Jan 20th, 2025, at 1:00pm with the Rev. David Marshall presiding.
Bill was born on March 15th, 1942, in Royal Oak, Michigan. He graduated from Southfield High School in Southfield, MI and pursued undergraduate work at Adrian College in Adrian, MI, where he received a B.A. in English & History. He received a Masters in Theology & History from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He then went on to receive a Doctorate in Science & Theology in San Anselmo, CA, and finally a 2nd Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ.
Bill enjoyed working in various professions, teaching and serving his community. He was an avid world traveler, spending time in Russia, China, Turkey, Ireland, England, Australia, and Mexico, including a sailing on the Queen Mary II from London to New York City. He enjoyed spending time with family exploring the U.S.: backpacking through the Brooks Range in Alaska; sailing his boat, Ruah, in SE Alaska; visiting the Grand Canyon, AZ; the Sequoia National Park, CA; Craters of the Moon, ID; Glacier National Park, MT; Grand Teton National Park, WY; the McKinzie Pass and Dee Wright Observatory lava fields, OR; and many more.
Bill is survived by his wife, Yan Chen Trudeau of Albany, OR; his brother, John Trudeau of Grand Forks, ND; foster daughter, June (Johnathan) Lee of Juneau, AK; his children, David Trudeau of Ketchikan, AK and Keli Li Trudeau of Albany, OR; grandchildren Hayden and Miles Trudeau of Ketchikan, AK.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, George Trudeau, and mother, Harriet (Maxson) Trudeau.
