Anne Glassey Tribute

Anne was born and grew up in a small agricultural village near Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia (Croatia).  She shared many stories of the goats and sheep they raised and lots of time working outside in the fields.

Her father immigrated to the United States with his brother.  After later returning, he was able to have one of his children immigrate as well.  Anne chose to go.  It was a long process that took about 10 years.  Putting in the hard work for her citizenship was one of her great achievements that made her proud.

Anne stayed with her cousins when she arrived in California.  Over the years, she always maintained a fondness for California and would visit often even after moving.  I think it was her home away from home.

She never shied away from hard work. Retiring after 25 years with HP was another accomplishment that made her proud.  She enjoyed the early years of working with a great company.

Her family was important to her, and she was always very giving to them.  Whether it was making dinner before leaving for work each day, making cupcakes for birthdays at school, or keeping in touch often with her sisters and family back home.  They were all important to her.  She enjoyed remembering people with phone calls or small gifts to brighten their day.  While growing up, she also made sure we learned how to write Thank You cards!

Our California family always included houses filled to the brim with people, boisterous voices, and tables of amazing food! Holidays were spent with Mimi and Tete Ann and their beautiful families.  Our Oregon family gatherings balanced on the quieter side with Grandma and Grandpa drawing everybody together with more amazing food and memories!  We have always been blessed by both families, feeling loved and that you belonged.

Stan and Anne were married for 51 1/2 years!  Their favored outings were to the Oregon coast, a quick drive away.  Packing lunches, stopping at the picnic stops, and of course a visit to the casino on the way home.  They were all favorites for her!

Anne is survived by her husband, sister and family in Croatia, and two daughters.

I believe people continue to live on as we share memories with each other.  Thank you for allowing her memory to live on in us.  Thank you for being a blessing in Anne's life.  ❤

We will notify family and friends when a celebration of life is planned for this summer.
