Charlotte Loraine Fisbeck

Charlotte Loraine (Poe) Fisbeck went to meet Jesus and family and friends in heaven on Friday, October 29, 2021.

She was born on June 3, 1936, at her grandma’s maternity home in Holyoke, Colo.  She was the second of four children born to Chester A and Charlene L. (Sawin) Poe.   

Charlotte was raised on a farm near Holyoke and attended a country grade school in Amity.  The school was 3 miles from home, so she rode horseback.  She had two teachers that also taught her father at the same grade school.  In 1954, she graduated from Phillips County High School.

Charlotte worked as a nurse aid at the county hospital in Holyoke for 1 year before attending nurses’ training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colo.  In the spring of 1956 Charlottes parents sold the farm and moved to Oregon.  That summer Charlotte moved to Oregon also. An old friend had a job waiting for her father at Schrock Seed Co. in Corvallis.  The friend happened to be an uncle of Richard Fisbeck who also found jobs for him and his father after they moved from Nebraska that same summer. 

It must have been God’s plan because Charlotte and Richard met and were married on July 11, 1957, just one year later.  The couple have two children. 

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 56years and 11 months, Richard O. Fisbeck; and sister Shirley Kruse.  She is survived by son Terry R. Fisbeck; daughter Connie S. Wagner; granddaughters Amber Cherry, Ashely Wagner, Karli Heimbue and Melissa Fisbeck; grandson Nicholaus Fisbeck; great grandchildren Katelyn, Jayden, Avery, Bella and Kie; and brothers Benny Poe and Garry Poe. 

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 17th at Hope Church in Albany.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Church missions.  Private inurnment took place at Willamette Memorial Park.
