Deborah Rose Bowerman-Bivens
January 18, 1962- August 13, 2021
Bivens, Deb, Deborah passed away peacefully at 7:30 p.m. on Friday August 13, 2021, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 59.
She is survived by son Jared Steele and loving husband Terry Bivens, as well as her stepdaughters Emily Downey and Megan and Mark Becker; and grandchildren Allie, Abigail, Blake and Easton. Lovingly remembered by her father Earl Harry Bowerman Sr.; mother Barbara Rose Ware; step mother Karen Dill Bowerman; brother Earl Harry Bowerman Jr.; sisters Heather and Heidi; niece Katie; and nephews Kyle and Harry.
Born January 18, 1962 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Deb attended high school in College Station, Texas. She received a Liberal Arts degree from Oregon State University. In her professional life she dabbled in real estate, managed multiple credit unions including Central Willamette Community Credit Union, was a member of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and was deeply loved by her team.
In her personal life she was a devout Christian and follower of God. She loved her church, the relationships she created there and always said “life is so precious, be sure to thank God each day you are here.” Deb was an amazing mother, she cheered on her son in all his endeavors, including being an avid lacrosse fan who could often be heard over the crowd. She had a passion for horses and competed in many events at fairs and cutting clubs. She loved to ride with her brother Earl Jr. deep into the forest on long trail rides and enjoyed a buttery Chardonnay thereafter. She and (husband) Terry enjoyed long road trips in their motorhome and loved to cheer on the many football teams she followed, including and most importantly the Seahawks where she was Richard Sherman's biggest fan.
She was loved deeply by her friends from Fresno, Hollister, Bend, Albany and abroad and has a long list of friends from across the country whom she loved deeply back. Deb will be remembered for being extremely generous with anyone she came across, be it her time or otherwise. On her last day she spent time with her husband Terry on the Oregon coast which she absolutely adored, smiling in the sunlight as she took her last glimpse of God’s great creation.
Her services will be held at 11 a.m. on the 28th day of August 2021 at Hope Church in Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Church (you can give online at hope.church). AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements (www.aasum-dufour.com).
