Donald Mathew Ballweber

September 3, 1931 — June 22, 2018

Donald Mathew Ballweber was born in Woodburn, Oregon on September 3, 1931 to parents James and Catherine Ballweber. He graduated from Woodburn High School and served in the National Guard for nine years.

Don later received his Engineering Degree from the University of Portland launching a 33-year career with the US Army Corps of Engineers.

After his retirement, Don enjoyed spending his time giving back to the community. He volunteered at Christmas Storybook Land, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the Albany Historic Carousel.

Don is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Eric, Brian, Lisa and Janet; grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Chloe, Gavin, Wyatt, and Kaden; and siblings, Florence, James (Chip), Richard, Jeanne and Patrick.

His brother Arnold preceded him in death.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Monday July 9, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany, with luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Willamette Memorial Park.
