Dorothy Lillian Privratsky

Dorothy Lillian Privratsky, 88 of Albany, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 26, 2018.
Dorothy was born in Dickinson, North Dakota to parents Charles and Rose (Kovash) Hanel. Dorothy grew up there and also graduated from high school there.
She met the love of her life, Laudie Joseph Privratsky, at a barn dance. They were married on August 7, 1950, enjoying almost 68 years together.
After Laudie’s time in the service, they returned to North Dakota, only later to make their way to Albany, where they settled and raised their family.
Dorothy loved to travel and was always ready for a new adventure. She also loved playing bingo and meeting new people. She was an optimistic person and looked for the best in everyone.
She loved her family with all her heart and looked forward to all family get togethers. She loved being able to attend her great-grandkids sporting events.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Laudie Privratsky; children, Dean (Peggy) Privratsky, Rhonda (Art) Farrow and Mark (Karen) Privratsky; grandchildren, Sara (Mike) Mendez, Molly (Rich) Privratsky-Nevin, Brandi (Joe) Mendenhall, Todd (Megan) Farrow, Emily (Chris) Downey, Megan (Mark) Becker, and Andrea (Ernie) Loy; great-grandchildren, Madison, Sophia, Brianna, Silas, Olivia, Jackson, Addie, Allie, Abigail, Blake and Easton.
A rosary service will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 4 at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany with a reception to follow.
Memorial contributions can be made in Dorothy’s name to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
