Doyle Gordon Cottongim

D.G. Cottongim was born in Dayton, Ohio, to Boyd B. and Tilda M. Cottongim. He was the youngest of their five children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Delmar and sister Helen.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Laverna; stepdaughter Ginger Cox of Albany; brother Denny of Columbus, Indiana; and sister Lois Clark of Danville, Indiana.
Mr. Cottongim was a retired truck driver, teamster and longtime supporter of workers’ rights and trade unionism. He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, and reader of all scientific subjects. He survived 2 years as a hospital corpsman and medical specialist in the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged in 1962.
At his request there will be no public service. Private inurnment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery.
