Elsie Jeannette Breadner passed away on October 25, 2019 at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in Albany, Oregon. She was 73 years old.
Elsie was born on May 7, 1946 in Polk County, Wisconsin to Marion and Adolf Thompson. She was the youngest of 8 children. She grew up in Lacomb, Oregon and went to school in Lebanon. She moved to Albany in 1972.
Elsie was married to Russel Berg for one year and had Lloyd, her oldest son. She married Elmer Canida November 7, 1965 and they divorced in 1983. She had 4 more children; Duane, Angela, Lance, and Leslie. Elsie then married the love of her life Dennis Breadner in 1987. They had 14 wonderful years together before he passed in 2001.
During her working life, she was a wonderful mother. She took care of 5 children and kept up the house. When the kids were all older, she worked at a seed company in Tangent, helped Dennis with his air duct cleaning business, and before she retired she worked as a server at Novak’s Hungarian restaurant.
Elsie was a member of the Eagles downtown Albany as well as a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.
Elsie enjoyed gardening, fishing, shopping, decorating her house, crafting, spending time at the beach, dancing and hanging out with her friends at the Eagles, playing the card game Skip-Bo and especially spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Elsie is survived by her older sister, Doris Osbourne; her children Duane Canida, Angela Trantham, Lance Canida, and Leslie Strom; grandchildren Ashley Chambers, Kaitlyn Roofener, Dakota Roofener, Jordan Trantham, Jessica Clark, Jace Trantham, and Chelsea Canida; great-grandkids Blake Chambers, Bailey Chambers, Madelynn Gomez, and Aiden Clark.
Elsie’s oldest son, Lloyd Canida, preceded her death in 1991.
A celebration of life service will take place at Willamette Memorial Park in their chapel in Millersburg on November 15, 2019 at 2 PM.
