Esther was born in Salina, Kansas, to parents Mildred and Gerhart Holle. She grew up in Sylvan Grove, Kansas. During her long, beautiful life, Esther worked in a grain elevator, egg candling, and worked as a civilian for family services as well as helped the base commander there. She also worked at Sears selling shoes, at Verbort sausage and the Knox Butte store, and she became a Clerical Assistant for the Albany Public School District, all while raising her four children.
In that time, she married her husband Charles E. Meston on July 12, 1953. Together they had three sons and a daughter, Charles (and wife Sandra), Robert, Bruce (with wife Patti), and Debra. Esther and Charles were blessed with 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren by blood and marriage.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, a grandson, and six great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
