On Wednesday, September 13th, 2023, Heidi Severson (Szczepkowski) passed away surrounded by her devoted husband, Eric and special friend, Jennifer Saia.
Heidi was born in Salem, Oregon on June 13, 1973, to the Edward and Pauline Szczepkowski. Ed and Pauline were her grandparents who adopted her and her older sister, Kelly. Heidi joined her older brother, Ron and sister Kelly. Heidi made it clear her entire life that Ed and Pauline were her only parents, and she was grateful for them and their upbringing of her.
Heidi went to Middle school and high school in Albany, Oregon where she made her home for the rest of her life.
Heidi married the love of her life and best friend, Eric Severson on January 18th, 2008. They had three amazing children, Avery Severson Lindquist (Grant), Isaac and Alex. All of whom Heidi was proud of.
Heidi’s first grandchild, Liam was born December 26th, 2018, and Heidi and Eric were instantly in love. Eleven months later, Lily was born November 2nd, 2019. Avery and her husband, Grant will welcome their 4th child in December, Syrus Levi, a little boy. Heidi approved of Syrus’ name. Heidi took Grant’s little girl, Scarlet as another grandchild. She loved these kids to the moon and back. All three grandbabies called her Grandma Drama. And Heidi LOVED it.
Heidi worked as a hairdresser for a number of years and met many great friends. But her greatest role was being able to be at home for her children.
Heidi was sick for at least 6 months prior to her death, but no one could imagine the seriousness of her illness. By the time she was diagnosed she declined quickly, but she never lost her wit and her sarcasm. She still lit up the room she was in.
Heidi is survived by her dear husband, Eric, all three of her children and 3 grandchildren and a soon to be 4th child. Her mother, Pauline, sister, Kelly Jefferson and her husband, Sean whom Heidi flatly considered her brother, her brother, Ron Szczepkowski and his wife, Giponnie and their son, Travis. And numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Heidi loved her schnauzers, Henry and Buddy and her yellow lab, Indie. They were her furry companions and she truly enjoyed them.
Please join Heidi's family in celebrating her wonderful life on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Church of God in Marion, Oregon (address in photos).
There will be an opportunity for anyone who would like to briefly speak about their time with Heidi. All that knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
