Jennifer Moore left this world on March 22, 2024. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Marilyn Moore, best friend Charlie Hendrick, twin brother Derrick, older siblings David and Laura, nieces and nephews, her brother from another mother – Scott Leslie, and her animal pal, Ethel.
She was born in Laguna Beach, CA, grew up in Las Vegas, NV and lived for 20 years in San Francisco, CA working in film and at a museum. After moving from San Francisco, she most wanted to see the world, always loving to travel - hiking to Macchu Picchu, throughout Europe, Japan, South America, parts of Asia and Indonesia and into the Amazon jungle with a local guide. As her friend Charlie said, Jennifer was a brave seeker, wanting to know about the abstract and the undefinable, appreciating such attempts in art and in life; she was private and wise.
While in her 10-year traveling phase, she drove cross-country, settling for some years in Maine working at an Art school, then New Orleans studying ceramic sculpture, then moving to Corvallis after her adventures to be near her family. She worked for 5 years at the local Corvallis Montessori School, then moved to Portland in 2021 to work in Business Development.
Jen loved animals, plants and nature, down-to-earth people, astronomy, sculpture, a good story, inspiring Art and reading the NY Times – she always had a curious mind. She was a great cook, loved good food and sharing something new and delicious.
Jen was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in spring of 2023 and returned to Corvallis, where her beloved parents took care of her.
Celebrate Jennifer by helping those less fortunate, enjoying the magic of Mother Nature and the beauty of the night sky.
