Krista Michelle Fisher Merrill

Krista was born June 6, 1980, to Ron and Beth Erickson in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Krista was the second daughter and was immediately loved by her big sister, Dena. In 1982, the family moved to Redmond, Oregon. The girls had the run of the acreage around the house, having many adventures. In the late 80’s, the family moved to Albany, then up to Aloha, finding their way back to Albany by the late 90’s. Krista attended South Albany High School and then LBCC. When Ron and Beth moved to Madras in the 2000’s, Krista followed, seeking a better climate for her asthma. 

While there, she met the father of her daughter, Christopher Martin. After being told she’d never conceive, Krista was elated to find that she was pregnant. Being a mother was the pinnacle of Krista’s existence. She loved Lorelei enough for several lifetimes. She also relished the chance to be an Auntie to her niece and nephew.  Krista was the happiest when playing with “her kids” or pets. She found fulfilling work as a pet sitter and dog walker. 

In 2018, Krista married her longtime sweetheart, Clark Fisher in a private ceremony. Clark and Krista met during her time in Madras, and what began as friendship blossomed into true love. Despite circumstances that kept them physically apart, Clark and Krista were closer than many other married couples. They marked their 3rd anniversary on October 23rd. 

Krista was preceded in death by just 28 days by her loving "Papa Bear", Ron Erickson.  Krista is survived by her loving husband, Clark, daughter Lorelei, mother Beth, sister Dena, grandmother Lorraine, brother-in-law Lance, niece Emily, and nephew Ethan, as well as many friends and relatives. Her passing leaves a hole in our lives, but we entrust her to the loving arms of Jesus. May she ever find rest in Him.
