Loril Dawn Chandler
January 23, 1963 – February 20, 2018
Loril Dawn Chandler passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at her mother’s home in Albany, OR.
Loril was born in Gold Beach, OR to Leonard Frank Chandler and Gwendolyn (Smith) Chandler on January 23, 1963. She grew up in Gold Beach, graduating from Gold Beach Union High School in 1981. She attended Oregon State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Design. She started employment at Oregon State University in 1992 as a student worker in the registrar’s office and stayed at OSU her entire career. For many years, Loril worked in the Speech Communication office. After the organization of the School of Arts and Communication located in Fairbanks Hall, Loril was promoted to Assistant to the School Director.
Loril enjoyed reading, music, art, apparel design and construction, Broadway musicals/plays, her two cats GiGi and Jasper, and spending time with her family.
Loril is preceded in death by her father, Leonard Frank Chandler.
She is survived by her mother Gwendolyn Chandler of Albany, OR; brother Craig Chandler and sister-in-law Denise Vermilyea of Jefferson, OR.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to SafeHaven Humane Society.
A celebration of life memorial service will be determined at a later date.
