Todd Wayne Phillips, a man known for his friendliness and great sense of humor, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023. Born on July 23, 1952, in Salem, Oregon, Todd was the beloved son of Claude Phillips and Eunice Jordan.
Raised in Stayton, Oregon, Todd graduated from Stayton High School in 1970. He began his career at Norpac Foods, where he honed his skills as a certified welder and later continued his education in trade school, becoming a Journeyman Electrician.
In 1990, he relocated to the California Bay Area and began working at Nancy's Specialty Foods. It was here that he met his wife of 31 years, Patty, and they began their life together. Following the births of their children, Jordan and Meghan, the family returned to Todd's home state of Oregon. Todd then joined Hewlett Packard as an Electrical Designer. In 1996, the family expanded with the birth of their son Blake. Todd made a few job changes throughout his career and before his retirement in early 2018, he was employed as an HVAC technician at HP.
An avid golfer, he took great pleasure in playing rounds with his father and participating in annual benefit golf tournaments through his work. A highlight of his golfing career was a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Trysting Tree Golf Course in August of 2000. A college football enthusiast, Todd was a devoted fan of the Oregon ducks and always looked forward to watching the games with his good friends. Todd enjoyed time spent with his family. Their vacations abroad were among his most treasured memories.
One of Todd's proudest titles was "Grampies." He took great joy in his role as a grandfather, always willing to help drive his grandchildren to school, take them to breakfast, and spend precious time with them.
Todd is survived by his wife, Patty; his children, Stephanie Phillips (daughter with Julie Hartfeil), Jordan Phillips, Meghan (Kyler) Quesenberry, and Blake Phillips; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Stella, Reese, and Wesley; his parents in-law, Mario and Estele Vassaux; his brother, Brian (Noeleen) Phillips; his sisters, Brenda (Magdy) Bishara and Rhonda Phillips; his brother-in-law, Mario (Patricia) Vassaux; his nieces, Christina (Tommy) Petersen, Rhonda Bishara, Ashley (Brandon) Cheney, Sierra Phillips, and Catherine Vassaux; and his nephews, Matt (Shelli) Phillips, Ryan (Brenna) Phillips, and Ryan Bishara. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Eunice Phillips.
Todd's life was marked by his friendly nature and his warm sense of humor. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
