Virginia Ellen Burton, born January 8, 1931, to parents Doris Edna and Richard Granville Highland, in Van Nuys, California, passed away on February 4, 2020, at her home in Lebanon, Oregon with family and friends by her side.
Virginia, a devoted follower of the lord, was married to Morris Sydney Burton for 59 years, until his passing on January 28, 2010. Virginia and Morris lived their dream of owning a farm and providing for their children. She enjoyed living her life most by being a loving wife and mother. She was also a farmer who had a passion for farm life and caring for animals. She owned a dog kennel, was a dog groomer and had a talent for sewing, quilting, and ceramics. She shared her creativity by leading 4-H youth, along with Morris, in the community for many years.
Virginia is survived by her sister, Mary Miller, and brother, Richard (Dick) Highland. She is also survived by her three children, Morris Sydney Burton Jr. (Rusty), Randolph Burton and Sonia Nishi, along with her five grandchildren, Miles, Travis, Troy, Alexander, and Karina.
Along with her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her two daughters, Sophia Cerbin who died on March 27, 2007, and Doris Jennings who died on October 21, 2014.
A public Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at New Hope Church in Lebanon Oregon at one o’clock in the afternoon. There will be a reception immediately following, where all are welcome to join in celebrating Virginia’s life.
