Our family lost part of our heart when Karen Yvonne McCann, 72, of Albany passed away on Thursday, June 23, at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Karen was born in Spokane, Washington, to Martin and Lena Grisco-McCann. She grew up in Troy, Montana, where she went to school and graduated from Troy Union High.
During her working life, Karen was a clerk at Ritches Supermarket. Karen was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was also spent time volunteering and was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Karen enjoyed spending time with her family. Thanksgiving and Christmas at her home was where the family always gathered for the grandchildren.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother and father, Lena and Martin McCann; and her one and only sibling, Marlene Gettle.
Karen is survived by her daughter Shellee Chapman; sons Brad Johnson and Brett Johnson; grandchildren Travis and wife Jessica Johnson, Nick Johnson, Andrew Warren, Tucker Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Alexis Chapman and Ashton Chapman; and great-grandchildren Brittany Nichleson, Rylan Johnson and Khloe Johnson.
Donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Karen's honor.
A memorial service will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany on July 1st at 11:00 AM. There will be a concluding graveside service for family and close friends at Willamette Memorial Park immediately following the service.
