Rocklyn Derrill DeWall, 63, of Sweet Home died peacefully at home.

Rocky was born in Portland to Derrill and Clairbel (Steinmeyer) DeWall. He grew up in the Springfield and Harrisburg areas.

After school, he served in the United States Marines artillery, with two years active service and four years reserve. Following the service, he worked in different vocations, one of which was Simpson Timber Co. until it closed. After that he went into truck driving.

He married his sweet wife Deyanne Lovejoy in 2010. They lived in Brownsville before recently moving to Sweet Home.

Rocky was often happiest when riding his Harley Davidson. He rode often with his biker friends. He belonged to a group called "The Road Maggots." They did a lot of fundraiser rides to help children and others in need.

He is survived by his wife, Deyanne of Sweet Home; son, Rocklyn DeWall Jr. and wife Amy of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, September-Lee Bridge and husband Dustin of Salem; brother, Micheal DeWall and wife Jane of Harrisburg; sisters, Kathy Ley and husband Rev. Bruce Ley of Albany; Bertha (Birdie) Avery and husband Rick of Trout Creek Post Camp; and grandchildren Zack DeWall of Talent; Hunter DeWall of Anchorage, Alaska; and Rocklynn Grace Bridge of Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rocky was and is much loved by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins in the area. His nieces and nephews will very much miss their "favorite" uncle.

Rocky was baptized as a baby and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Albany. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, at 2:00 p.m. His ashes will be buried at a later time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dornbecker Hospital for Children or any local organization that helps children with cancer.
