Belen Duran Arevalo

Belen Duran Arevalo, 89, of Albany passed away on Sunday at Timberview Care Center.
Belen was born in Mumford, Texas, the daughter of Juan Pablo and Antonia (Lara) Duran. She married Anacleto M. Arevalo on March 31, 1947, in Kingsville, Texas. They moved to Jefferson in 1964 and later settled in Lebanon in 1978.
Belen enjoyed her family, grandchildren, her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephew. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay. She loved her roses and her garden. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and her needle crafts. Belen was an amazing mother and grandmother who instilled hardworking and spiritual values in her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany.
Belen is survived by her sons Anacleto Arevalo Jr. of St. Helen, Juan Arevalo Sr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jose Arevalo of Lebanon; daughters Concepcion Arevalo of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Aida DeLeon of Albany; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Guillermo Duran of Lebanon, Anastacio Duran of Independence, and Margarita Cuevas, Guadalupe Mendez and Edwarda Mendoza, all of Albany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anacleto M. Arevalo Sr.; son Jesus Arevalo; brothers Crisoforo Mendez Sr., Antonio Mendez, Gabriel Duran Sr., Teodoro Duran Sr., Francisco Duran, Gregorio Duran Sr., Antonio Duran Sr. and Candido Duran Sr.; and sisters Maria Solis and Candearia Carbajal. A visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 21, with a Rosary Prayer service to begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Jefferson Pioneer Cemetery.
