To Kati's family - I am truly sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing Kati since she started as a nursing student on our campus. Her time here was too brief but her impression will be long lasting. I described her yesterday to our students as a shining light. That is how I saw her and that is how I will remember her.

Trisha and Matt,
I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter Kati. I can't even imagine what you must be going through at this time, but I know that your Faith in God is very strong and that he will be there for you and your family in the coming days. He will be there to give you the strength that you will need, as well as all his love and compassion. Hopefully you can take comfort in knowing that she is in heaven with God and knowing that "he only takes the best." Again, please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that my heart goes out to you and I will continue to keep you in prayer.

It has been my joy getting to know Kati as she progressed through OHSU's Nursing program. In the last 2 terms I have had the privilege of being one of her instructors and give witness to the impact of her life, her faith, her nursing competency and personal passion. She infused each moment with joy-filled purpose. Her ability to convey hope and healing has left an imprint on my life and the lives of many associated with this program.. Kati's global and missional perspective was contagious.. I am sad to know that here on this earth I will not see her amazing smile or hear her throaty laugh. I am glad to know that I will see her again in heaven. For you, her precious family, you have been and will be in my heart and my lifted to God in my prayers.
