So sorry to hear about your loss Pam. Mike was a very special person. I would see him just taking time out to just talk to people. He will be missed. Thinking of you Pam. I was just shocked to see his picture.

The twinkle in his eye was always there. His support for his hometown could not be missed. His love of life and family will endure. Mike was a friend who will never be forgotten.

I was to shocked and saddened to see Mikes name here today. Though I knew him mainly as a friendly acquaintance here in town he was always friendly and kind, remembering me at any chance meeting whether through his step-mom Jane, at his shop or just around town. I was blessed by his true community spirit (the "Waverly Duck" just because...), his love and knowledge of the antiques at his shop and his willingness to share any information he had about those items, never rushed, with enthusiasm, a kind smile and a twinkle in his eye. He made a friend, difference & a memory with each life he touched no matter how big or small. God bless you Mike, thanks for paying it forward. Lifting his family in loving prayer, may you feel his soul with you always, the memories you share all around you that no one can take away and the love that will last for eternity. . .

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences for Mike's family. There's such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time, but it's not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor. 4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection; this is our hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. So may the God of comfort (Ps. 83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.
